AppMobi has added to its roster of HTML5 tools, launching a new wrapper service that enables developers to launch apps utilising the language on multiple platforms.
Named openBuild, the new cloud service allows developers to compile HTML5 code into one distributable 'hybrid' app that will run on scores of operating systems.
Open to all
"With openBuild, appMobi initiates its support for the popular Heroku cloud application platform," added appMobi in a statement.
"There is no limit to the number of apps that developers can build or publish. A fully featured Heroku add-on that integrates appMobis web services into Herokus platform is under development as well."
The firm, which is a long time backer of HTML5, claims the platform mirrors the technique used by other major hybrid apps - including Netflix, New York Times and Facebook - delivering releases compatible with iOS, Android and Nook, as well as desktop based marketplaces such as Facebook, Chrome, Mozilla Market and Intel AppUp.
Developers can download openBuild from RubyGems.
