Video games company Scopely has appointed tech veteran Mike Seavers as its senior vice president of technology.

Renowned for his work on Fortnite and League of Legends, Seavers brings over 25 years of experience from his roles as CTO at Riot Games, EVP of development at Epic Games, and most recently CTO at Yuga Labs.

The new SVP of technology also brings expertise in scaling audiences and cross-platform development, both of which are a good fit for the expanding Scopely and their drive to move onto platforms beyond mobile, including console and PC.

Pushing the boundaries

“Scopely’s hypergrowth and track record of delivering industry-leading experiences signals its upward momentum in the video game space," said Seavers. “Cross-platform hits like Stumble Guys highlight its ambition to create even more immersive and unforgettable experiences that bridge the gap between platforms and allow for seamless, interconnected player communities."

The former Riot Games man adds that he looks forward to “pushing the boundaries of innovation" and is “excited about the many Scopely projects underway that I can’t yet share!”

Scopely COO Eunice Lee comments, “With deep experience working with scaled global audiences and beloved franchises, Mike’s expertise and leadership will propel our tech capabilities to new heights, allowing our teams to design solutions that drive our cross-platform - mobile, PC, web, console - experiences even further."
