Clash Heroes lives!… As new Supercell game Project R.I.S.E

RISING from the ashes of Clash Heroes and borrowing its assets comes a new "multiplayer, action-focused, social, RPG roguelite”
Clash Heroes lives!… As new Supercell game Project R.I.S.E
  • “Clash Heroes is dead. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Project R.I.S.E is still a Clash game. And the better news is that it’s now a multiplayer action-focused RPG."

Supercell has a new game on the way and have taken to Twitter and YouTube with new accounts to announce its imminent arrival.

On board you'll find a new trailer that explains more about the game and its familiar origins.

Best of all, recognising the brutal way in which the company loves to ditch ‘failed’ ideas for in-progress games, the new project’s trailer pokes fun at their reputation, beginning with the corpses of Clash mini and Clash Quest being buried on a hill already containing the graves of Gunshine, Hay Day Pop, Magic, Battle Buddies and more.

Then the call comes in: “I got some bad news, man. We decided to kill Clash Heroes as well”. But it seems that someone spoke too soon…

From the ashes of greatness…

The video features Julien le Cadre, the game lead on what’s now known as Project R.I.S.E being grilled on what’s happening by the project’s community manager, Frame.

And here’s the short version of what’s going on:

“Clash Heroes is dead,” explains le Cadre. “That’s the bad news. The good news is that Project R.I.S.E is still a Clash game. And the better news is that it’s now a multiplayer action-focused RPG."

Built from the ground up as a “social action PRG roguelite” Project R.I.S.E isn't Clash Heroes… But it is set in the Clash universe.

The game shares art stye and assets from Clash Heroes but “everything else was built from scratch,” assures le Cadre, with the most obvious difference being that while Clash Heroes was strictly single player, Project R.I.S.E has been “built with multiplayer first".

Now, rather than taking on dungeons solo in strict ‘PvE’ gameplay, players team up with two other team members to "explore a mysterious place known only as ‘The Tower’". Each session takes place on a different floor of the tower with teams trying to get as high as they can.

And it's coming soon…

The game will enter a pre-alpha playtest period soon - “in early July” - and you can sign up to take part right here: supr.cl/rise

And the team have promised that more updates and news will be shared on the game's brand new YouTube channel here.

As for anything else going on and behind-the-scenes on what looks like Supercell’s next big game, we’ll keep you posted.
