Asphalt Legends: Unite takes the racing favourite cross platform for the first time
  • NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz is the game's newest ambassador
  • Its new multiplayer feature allows cross-platform competitive play across mobile, console and PC

Gameloft's Asphalt Legends has teamed up with NASCAR driver and Malcolm in the Middle actor Frankie Muniz to break the news that the famous mobile series is going cross platform.

The live-action trailer shows Muniz as its newest ambassador as he and others play Asphalt Legends: Unite - out now - on different devices to showcase the game's versatility.

"Whether playing on a Samsung tablet during a camping trip, racing on a Steam Deck while traveling, or competing on an Xbox with friends at home, the game's new multiplayer feature enables a cross-platform racing experience for the first time."

The series has seen over 20 iterations since its first pre-smartphone release Asphalt Urban GT back in 2004. The game has appeared on practically every gaming platform (and most consistently on mobile) ever since.

Now, via the Unite update, players can race against each other regardless of where they play.

Multiple in-game events lined up

Fans of Muniz can participate in in-game events linked to his NASCAR racing schedule once the game launches. These events allow players to race against Muniz during key race weekends such as the Firekeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway from Thursday, August 15th 2024 to Monday, August 19th.

There are other “Race with Muniz" events scheduled to take place on the following dates:

  • July 24
  • August 1
  • August 15
  • August 23
  • September 5
  • September 19
  • September 27
  • October 4

Asphalt Legends Unite will also introduce a special edition of Frankie Muniz's car that'll be available to players who complete in-game events or in-game purchase from Wednesday, July 24th to Monday, October 7th 2024.

“I think the one thing I really love about the game is it's fun, you get in the car, you race around, you jump around, and you're racing against your friends all over the world. That's what I want when I'm playing a game,” said Muniz.

“I get to race real cars in real life, so if I'm going to be playing a game, I want it to give me a different, exciting, connected experience, and you get that with Asphalt.”
