Crowdfunding platform Kickstarter will launch in Japan on September 13th.
As reported by The Verge, the news means creators in Japan can now launch their own localised campaigns using a Japanese bank account.
Users will also now be able to write their Kickstarter page in Japanese.
Previously creators had to form a campaign with a partner in the US, though Japanese users could always pledge donations to a project.
10,000 games funded
Any developers or other creators in Japan interested in starting a crowdfunding campaign should email japan@kickstarter.com.
Kickstarter, available in 21 countries, has been used to help more than 10,000 games generate funds to support the project to release – although not every title is completed.
